The Bribery Act

The Bribery Act 2010 came into force on the 1st of July 2011. The Act creates a new offence under section 7 which can be committed by commercial organisations which fail to prevent persons associated with them from committing bribery on their behalf.The Act is designed to combat bribery and corruption in the public and private sector. According to the Act: “A Bribe is a financial or other advantage intended to induce or reward improper performance, where benefit could create a conflict between personal interests and business interests”. Easton Bevins is fully aware, in agreement and committed to compliance with the Bribery Act 2010.
