External Decorations & Maintenance
Easton Bevins Chartered Building Surveyors were appointed to prepare and manage a programme of planned maintenance project works to a block of residential apartments in Bristol.
The project predominantly involved the external redecoration of the front and end elevations of the listed building. The works included localised render repairs, and generally a thorough preparation of all timber framed windows to prolong their expected serviceable life.
An independent scaffold was erected to provide safe working to both elevations, with scaffold extended to reach both chimney breasts and parapet walls to ensure that all areas could be checked for defects, and all necessary repairs undertaken at the same time.
The works were managed under the JCT Minor Works 2016 standard form of contract and Easton Bevins fulfilled the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 by performing the role as Principal Designer. The Principal Contractor delivered the project on time, within budget and to a good standard of workmanship.
